Volunteers

Volunteers

Do you have a few hours to spare each week?

Would you like to join our small, friendly team?

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of local residents?

We are always on the lookout for passionate individuals to volunteer in a number of different roles at Hearing Help Essex.

We are currently looking to recruit new volunteers in Chelmsford, Maldon, South Woodham Ferrers, Braintree, Halstead, Brentwood, Thurrock, and across the Uttlesford district.

Volunteer roles include:

– Hearing Aid Support Service technical volunteers for sessions and home visits

– Hearing Aid Support Service ‘Meet & Greet’ hosts for large sessions.

– Befriending; would you like to help someone with hearing loss that is feeling lonely? Just a chat once every now and again, in person or by some other means. Look for activities in the area they could attend and help them have the confidence to go along.

– Admin/Office support.

– Photographer

– Ambassadors to help with presentations and information stands. Help our Outreach Workers, Kay and Julie, when they are doing talks and displays. Chat to people and make sure they get the advice they need.

Volunteers can help at the Resource Centre with general administration tasks, or organise fund raising events for us. We would be keen to use any specialist knowledge like bid writing, social media use, and WordPress website administration.

A DBS check is required for most volunteering activities, full training will be given in all cases. We will pay your out-of-pocket expenses and you do not need to be deaf to volunteer.
