A free and informative Sensory Awareness day, will take place at Basildon Library on Wednesday 31st May from 10.30am-14.30pm. Members of the community are invited to ‘drop-in’ between these times.
Hearing and sight loss impacts on people’s lives in all sorts of ways, with practical, social and emotional challenges being faced on a daily basis. The day aims to attract families, friends, carer’s or anyone with hearing or sight loss, living in Basildon or nearby, wanting to find out more about the services and help available to them.
Hearing Help Essex, a registered Charity that exists to assist people with acquired hearing loss is bringing together key sensory partners on the day, including the Royal Association for the Deaf, (RAD) Basis South Essex, Essex Cares (ECL) and the DWP.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet local advisers who can assist with practical advice, information and guidance on hearing and sight loss, whatever the issue. There will also be a range of assistive equipment on display, so people can learn more about the benefits of a variety of devices that can help. All are welcome to attend.
